Women are often poorly nourished at the onset of menopause
bulletThe obsession with slimmness persists, along with its perverse side effects;
bulletMany women simply put on weight with age, even though they eat less;
bulletEven though fat consumption has been dropping over the last several years, hydrogenated fat consumption remains excessive;
bulletFrom adolescence on, women do not consume adequate quantities of calcium;
bulletFor many women, the distribution of protein throughout the day is clearly inadequate;
bulletConsumption of foods rich in zinc, magnesium, vitamin B6 and folic acid has not reached satisfactory levels, which may well have an adverse effect on the nervous and cardiovascular systems;
bulletThe lack of diatary fibre remains acute and may well explain why constipation and diverticulitis are more frequent after menopause;
bulletThe consumption of fruits and vegetables rich in potassium is too low to prevent or alleviate the problems of hypertension that often appear after age 50.

 New Eating Srategy

Adopt an anti-diet approach;

Add food and flaxseed to your daily menu;

bullet

Increase your vegetable and fruit intake;

bullet

Eat smaller meals but make sure there is adequate protein at each meal;

Never skip a meal;

bullet

Increase your physical activity;

bullet

Reduce your alcohol and tobacco consumption if necessary.
